22 May Be Kind To Your Mind
As our facility, the gentleGYM has recently reopened, we can’t wait to see you again. We are taking social distancing and sanitary precautions to keep the safety of our members and patients first. We want all of you to feel comfortable joining us again. Give us a call if you have any further questions about our facilities policies regarding how the virus has changed how we are operating. We are open and we miss all of you!
This week we are focusing on mental health. Mental health is just one of our eight dimensions of well-being, but it’s just as important as the rest. It affects how we think and feel, our mood, our behavior, how we handle stress, and making healthy choices. Mental health is important in every stage of life, from adolescence through adulthood. It’s important to give a little extra attention to your mental health during this pandemic. It’s easy to let that aspect of our health slip away but remember to keep up the positive self-talk and self-love.
Here are a few tips to help maintain your mental health:
1. Get plenty of rest
2. Stay physically active
3. Do something you enjoy
4. Manage your stress like: reading, mindfulness, finding ways to laugh, find what works for you.
5. Eat well. Take two things out of your eating habits that you know aren’t good for you.
While you’re in the gentleGYM this week, spend some extra time in the Healing Corner. End your workout in our massage chairs, discover BrainTap, or journal your thoughts in the gG Living Room. We encourage you to explore our massage therapy services, too! Tune in to those mental thoughts and explore them. Quiet the mind, and take a deep breath. You’ve got this! And, we are here for you!
